Urban Decay is really trying to woo me with this palette. I haven’t purchased an Urban Decay palette since the release of Deluxe Shadow Box back in 2008. The Naked palette was one that immediately caught my attention simply because of slim chocolate brown velvet case. Most Urban Decay palettes in the past have been cute and colorful. With the addition of the word “naked” boldly embossed in gold foil in the front of the palette, it simply proves that Urban Decay is growing up but remains edgy. The value of the palette is great. You get 12 eye shadows (1.3g each, not the full size 1.5g), 2 24/7 Eye Pencils (1 double sided pencils at 0.5g each), and a travel size bottle of Primer Potion (0.13 fl oz) all for $44. The quality was nothing short of great, which is to be expected with Urban Decay. With the exception of Naked, Buck, and Creep I was able to swatch them with a single onceover. This palette also has a good blend of matte, metallic, and shimmer finish eye shadow. The only colors that gave me issues were Naked and Buck. They didn’t show well on the swatches but I’m sure they work fine when paired with other colors and blended together. Overall I love this palette as an everyday go-to, toss it in the bag, universally friendly, beauty on a budget palettes.
I think the issue that most customers are running into with this palette is getting their hands on it! It’s a permanent palette and it’s not limited edition, however it’s I high demand right now. I’ve gotten word from Urban Decay that they’re manufacturing them as fast as they can. It’s best to simply call your local Urban Decay, Sephora, or Ulta and be added to the waiting list so you can get it as soon as it arrives. I lucked up and just happen to be at Sephora as they were being stocked on the shelves. Only 10 came in that day and I’m sure they were all sold that same day if not the next day. Urban Decay did a wonderful job with this one. I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept up with this trend and released another Naked palette.
I also own the Coastal Scents 88 Warm Palette. The quality can’t be compared to Urban Decay and please do not try to convince me otherwise but a few of the colors come close. I’ll have that post up next week before I go to LA for vacation.

Naked – Matte muted tan. Despite its chalky appearance the texture is smooth but it won’t make a good stand alone color for my skin-tone.

Buck – Matte light brown. It’s similar to Naked but deeper in color.
Half Baked – True metallic champagne
Smog – Rich metallic medium toned brown
