Upon first look it looked as though Sally Hansen ”Strobe Light” had a chance to be a little competition for OPI “Teenage Dream”. Dupe? Not quite…not even close. OPI “Teenage Dream” is deeper in color and more of a “complex” nail color—the base color is richer in color, it has fine pink shimmer, and just enough big holo glitter to makes it perfect and not like a kiddie color.

The collection she tweeted isn’t part of the collection she’s teamed up to do, because it’s Orly “Cosmic FX” Collection. I can spot that collection a mile away…it is gorgeous.
Monica hinted at a nail polish line with an inspirational quote theme last year during a video interview, but I didn’t get my hopes up because I hate when things like this fall through– *cough* Teyana Taylor “Dope Lips” Lip Gloss Line. The new Mrs. Brown took to her Twitter account to announce that she’s finalized the collaboration with Orly.
Now I know many people think that this is somewhat random for Monica to collaborate on a nail polish collection as oppose to something hair or fashion related but I completely understand. Monica’s nails are always adorned with current colors and designs…people are still talking about the pretty pink color she wore when she posted a TwitPic of her engagement ring. I did a post on her nail color from the “Everything to Me” video and people seem to like her choice of nail colors. My more pressing question is when is Rihanna getting a line?!

Your facial cleanser should not only cleanse your face but also be a double duty powerhouse, based upon your skin care needs. Every day I reach for an exfoliating facial cleanser because not only does it cleanse my skin but also lightly exfoliates it and preps it for actual exfoliation. For those of you that choose not to exfoliate (for reasons I’ll never quite understand but will humbly accept) you’ll benefit from this the most. For those of using an exfoliating facial cleanser for the first time, expect your skin to glow and look rejuvenated. If you have troublesome white heads this could be the easiest solution for your problem (depending on how deeply embedded they’ve became). The most difficult part of incorporating an exfoliating facial cleanser in you routine is finding the one that works best for your skin. I’ve tired countless brands with different acids and found that alpha hydroxy acid and enzymes work best for me. Others like Carm B. of Lipstick Fashion Mascara and Danielle over at The Style and Beauty Doctor swears by glycolic acid facial cleansers. All acids work differently– you simply don’t know which one your skin will have a better reaction to. Now keep in mind, as great as a starting point this is, you can’t eliminate regular exfoliation from your skin care routine.

*does the slow corny eye wink* We all know most of us don’t actually call it an “overnight” bag, but for the sake of keeping this post from being rated R we’ll just call it that. Ask any actively dating single girl (that’s not locking down her goods for marriage or other reasons) what’s in her overnight bag and you’ll get a slew of various items. I swatched and reviewed “My Lifesaver” as part of the first set of nail lacquers from the “One Less Lonely Girl” Collection. I guess this all make sense now….the surprise appearance of “My Lifesaver” and now we’ll be seeing those bright royal blues and purples we saw with the first promo pics. OMG! I’m too excited.

It sounds like the new sorbet finish may be similar, if not the same as jelly finish nail colors. Not like I have a problem with that because jelly finishes are my fave. You just never know with these releases. Sometimes I read these releases and think “oh I get it” or “what…huh..I don’t get it”, then try the color and it all makes sense.

Sorry about the not so great lighting– I took the pics in the office. My freebie order arrived a week ago and I’ve been wearing “Bella” since it came. This is a great everyday sheer/ jelly-like pink color. It easily replaced Essie “Mademoiselle” as my favorite sheer pink. It’s the same color but it’s more pigmented so I can use 2 coats instead of 3. You can still see a hint of nail tip but not too much. Simply perfect. For those that may not know, “Bella” was Zoya featured in the movie “Black Swan” which just received an Oscar nomination….how cool is that?
The bad news is that my coworkers ordered their polish a day or two after me and their orders still haven not been shipped as of today. They keep giving me the side-eye as though it’s my fault…but I did rave about Zoya.
