In 2006 I went through a divorce that caused my hair to start breaking off. I live in Utah where there are NO black hair salons. My only option was to figure out how to do my own hair. It was Keep it Simple Sista and the owner of it, that helped me nurse my hair back to health. I read every blog possible on healthy hair. Going natural wasn’t an option for me so I had to figure out how to take care of my relaxed hair. I joined the above mentioned social network where I was surrounded around other women who were just like me. Some further ahead of me and others trailing. We were there to ask each other questions and help one another on our journey. I then stumbled upon Hairlicious Inc. and joined that social network also. Between the two I was overloaded with info. I began to find others with what looked like my fine hair type and I copied their regimen and the products they used. By trial and error I finally found my core products and what worked best for my hair.
M-W or T/Th :Cowash at night ( most times I prepoo bf cowash) -AIRDRY
Saturday: DC on dry hair and wash -AIRDRY
Aphogee 2 min reconstructor protein treatment once a month or when I am using heat.
I do use heat, in moderation–on weekends or when going out. Because I cowash at night, I don’t have any problems doing it that much, even during the winter. Once my hair is partially dry, I put a scarf on it at night and in the morning I will wear a ponytail/bun. My other styles on airdried hair are pincurls or braidouts. My hair is in a ponytail or clipped up 99% of the time. I usually only wear it down when I’m going out or sometimes on Sundays.
Stay consistent with what you’re doing, and with patience you will see some results”

Hair goals:
I would like to regain the 5 inches I cut off and make Waist length again by the end of 2011. I am really happy with the length I currently have so as long as I can maintain HEALTHY hair– nice looking ends..I’ll be happy. I guess knowing that as a black woman *my* hair can grow long lengths, has been my only goal. Mission ACCOMPLISHED!

This is great! Congrats on ur hair journey thus far! I’m taking notes.
