The promo photos for OPI’s Touring America Fall 2011 collection had me excited about these limited edition shades but in the back of my mind I knew seeing it in real life could make or break this collection. At first glance it looks like typical dark shades we’ve seen from OPI in the past, but this collection has really set the bar for the season and future collections to come. Every now and then a company creates a color that just seems to stick around no matter how hard you try to avoid it. Think, OPI “You Don’t Know Jacques”…if you don’t personally own it, one of your friends does. This collection has a lot of shades that I know will become signature colors for a lot of gals. I used 2 coats for each swatch and the coverage was great. The only shade that I had issues with was “Honk if You Love OPI”…and I tooted my horn! The formula was thin and the opacity wasn‘t as good as I expected from OPI or any other brand for that matter. As for the rest of the shades, they were perfect.
It looks like OPI really took their time with this collection and the theme behind it. They released a Youtube video with a background story for each color and even posted swatches, which was cute as hell. I do feel that the city of Chicago should have been represented in the collection. It also looks like a little shade was thrown at New York city with “Uh-oh Roll Down The Window”. I’ve never traveled to NYC but I’ve heard that the city has a really unique smell. But a more logical thought is that they’re refer to someone breaking wind in the car, which explains the murky green.

Get In The Expresso Lane – A deep rich espresso brown that reminds me of squid ink or motor oil. It doesn’t have the warmth like other espresso shades I seen last season. Its cooler and has more brown than its sister color “I Brake For Manicures”
I Brake For Manicures – A deep rich brown cream with a minute hint of eggplant. I noticed the eggplant tones more in the bottle than swatched, I’m assuming because the color deepens so much after the second coat.
Honk If You Love OPI – Classic grape purple cream. I love this shade of purple but had issues with the formula and found it to be thin and not as opaque as it should have been. It’s a warmer shade of purple in comparison to “I Brake For Manicures”
Color To Diner For – A rosy red with gold micro shimmer. I didn’t like this shade at all. Maybe its just not for me but it didn’t do anything for me.
French Quarter For Your Thoughts – Mousy taupe-gray cream. It has more brown tones than “Suzi Takes the Wheel” which has more blue, but they’re only off by tone, not really in the actual shade. Its deeper in color compared to American Apparel “Mouse” but still similar.
Suzi Takes The Wheel – Cool toned asphalt gray cream with a hint of sage. This gray will look great on any skin tone. It took me 4 tries before I was able to find a gray that I liked and I still ended up creating my on shade. I wish this shade was a around a few years ago.
Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window – Murky cream olive green with gray tones. This color is so odd, I completely understand the name lol.
A-taupe the Space Needle – Light brown with softened with light gray cream. This color could easily be the new “You Don’t Know Jacques”.
My Address Is Hollywood – Rosy pink with soft rose gold micro shimmer. I wish this color was released during summer, but nonetheless it’s a gorgeous color, Its more demur and cool compared to “I Eat Mainely Lobster”.
Road House Blues – Deep inky blue with purple tones…or is it purple with blue tones? Its really in the middle of both colors. I love a nice indigo cream.
I Eat Mainely Lobster – Salmon with rose gold micro shimmer. This color looks like cook lobster too! It has more coral and its brighter than “My Address Is Hollywood”.
Are We There Yet – A gorgeous coral with yellow tones and pink micro shimmer. It has more coral and less pink than “I Eat Mainely Lobster”.
