“Beautiful Girls” is in development with Fox to be a young and vivacious soap dealing with sexual/office politics in the beauty industry specifically at a cosmetics company. Sure to be an intriguing watch, at this point, one can only wonder the details of this show, like when it will eventually air, who will star in it, how factual it will be, and if it will be based in New York, Miami or Los Angeles.

There’s not much information being told about this production, only that it’s being written by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain who have both worked on shows like “Angel”, “Vampire Diaries” and “Dollhouse.” Even though it may all be fiction, it will be extremely interesting for the world to see how the beauty industry works from the PR, marketing, beauty editorials, make up artists and celebrity stand point. It’s also amazing to see actual scripted shows making a slow come back.

Let me tell you…I will be sitting in front of the television with snacks in hand and a group of my closes friends watching this show when it airs.  I’m sure the makeup will be flawless and the show would be full of drama.  I hope it’s era reminiscent like Mad Men…that would be too dope!

Adele’s classic style is one I can really appreciate.  Sometimes less is more, and this is a great example.  Her pointed-tip talons and simple high-shine creme finished beige nail color is perfect; trendy, fashion forward, and elegant.  She could have have photos of loved one’s (Katy Perry’s nails last year) or Minx (like Beyoncé), but this worked best.

I’ve been on a nude nail polish kick lately…I seriously can’t get enough of them.

Have you used colorless Miracle Skin Transformer?

I have!  I got a small sample tube of it a while back and I love it.  I only got a few uses out of the tube but it works just as great at the tinted version.  The most noticeable difference is that that it gives your skin a satin matte finish, and you won’t get the white glow.  I personally wouldn’t buy the colorless version for myself but it is great to keep in you kit if you’re a makeup artist for the versatility.  For myself, I love the tinted version.  The coverage is great and it feels like you’re getting more bang for your buck.

Thanks Geela for the question!

You guys know I’ve been out of the Essie loop for a while, so it’s no surprise that I’m a tad late with this swatch.  I had a color in my head and knew exactly how I wanted it to look down to the tones and depth of color.  I was ready to Franken (create) my own color but decided to search in-store first because I really don’t like Frankening as much as one may think.  My eyes landed on Essie “Case Study” like it was Keith Sweat himself was personally holding the bottle for me.  The yellow toned tan was exactly what I was looking for and not a dupe could be found in my stash.  What surprised me to the most was how perfect the formula was.  It could have been a 1-coater.  It wasn’t chalky or streaky, and after 4 days of wear it still looks like the first day I applied it.

Essie “Case Study” is 1 of 6 colors from Essie’s Fall 2011 collection, which is in stores now.  I had a hard time getting all the details about this collection with a basic Google search, so those are all the details I have for now.  It seems like Essie’s online presence is becoming weaker and weaker every season.  I hope everything is okay :(

Russian Red, Lady Danger, Ruby Woo, Diva, Rapturous, Crimson

Top to bottom: Crimson, Rapturous, Diva, Ruby Woo, Lady Danger, Russian Red

(no falsh) Top to bottom: Crimson, Rapturous, Diva, Ruby Woo, Lady Danger, Russian Red

Russian Red – neutral red, appearing to have a more even blend of coolness and warmth with a matte finish.

Lady Danger – bright red with rich hues of orange and a matte finish.

Ruby Woo – a shade brighter and warmer than its sister Russian Red, but with the same matte finish and a cult following like none other.

Diva – deep red with strong slight but noticeable hues of purple and a matte finish.

Rapturous – limited edition mattene (which is supposed to be super matte) released back in 2007.  Deep red with maroon tones. This was one of my first MAC red lip colors :) .

Crimson Lipmix Lip Pigment – MAC Pro crimson red lip color with a satin-matte finish.  Don’t let the tube fool you-  I don’t find these to be comparable to OCC Lip Tars, unless we’re solely speaking about the level of pigment.  The textures are almost opposite of one another, with Lipmix being thick and creamy compared to Lip Tars that have a thin (but opaque) consistency with a high shine finish.

So you’re shopping, see a great looking product at a price you can’t beat. You checked the ingredients, they look promising and nothing too crazy, and the smell is to die for.  You bring it home use it and want to fall to your knees.  It’s just not giving you everything you hoped for & more.  Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub is one of my least favorite body scrubs, but not to the point that I returned it.  I really like the smooth texture and smell, but it makes my skin dry *insert confused face here, because I could have sworn shea butter is supposed to moisturize my skin*.  I’m thinking about adding some type of body butter to it to it, but that would change the consistency.  I just feel that it can be a lot better than what it is and I’m still baffled that it makes my skin dry.  It has a really good blend of oils, I’m not sure what went wrong.

I wanted to extend my weekly manicure of Nabi “Blue Angel” plus I was out of nail polish remover, so I decided to do some layering using Hard Candy “Breakup”.  I haven’t used this hex glitter topper in a while so I had to use nail polish thinner to bring it back to life.  Funny…it seems like whenever I use “Breakup” I’m layering it over some color.  I layered it over black and gave it a matte finish here.

The team over at BellaSugar.com reported that Miss Piggy is due to have her very own OPI collection in a few months.  I also noticed several photos of the Miss Piggy “Simply Moi!” 6 color display all over the ‘net.  I can’t help but notice that these colors look like they’re part of the OPI Muppets Collection being released for the holidays.  I can’t see why OPI would release 6 additional shades that look almost identical to the ones already being released.  But I can see Miss Piggy having her own display-  I mean, she is the diva of this collection, now that sounds right to me.  If you’ve ever been to Ulta, you’ll notice that OPI is notorious for having various displays.  They often fool me into thinking that I’ve missed a collection, they’re just that good lol.
