OPI Serena Williams Grandstand Finale Collection Review and Swatches

 

Pros & Bronze – gold, rose gold, and peachy shimmer.  You need this color like your life depends on it.  I used three layers for full coverage. This color is so romantic.  I can see myself wearing Jessica Simpson “Fancy” perfume when I wear this color. It looks really close to Zoya “Tiffany” but with more yellow gold and pink sparkle.

 

Love Is A Racket – tomato red pink jelly with micro flakie pink shimmer.  Two coats for full coverage.

These are the final two lacquers in the 2011 Serena Williams Glam Slam series womp womp womp.  The Glam Slam series was pretty exciting for tennis loving polish addicts and it had a great run.  Grandstand Finale coincides with Serena Williams’ upcoming U.S. Open tennis tournament in New York.  This collection is described as being “classic and glamorous”, and I’m just not seeing it.  “Pros & Bronze” is one of the most unique nail polish colors I’ve seen in a while and I’m really impressed, you’ll want this one in your collection. It look beautiful alone (use 3 coats) but also layers nicely; changing boring nail colors to BOOM POW BAM!

I’m on the fence about “Love Is A Racket”.  Is it a pretty shimmery pink?  Yes.  Will it wow you? Probably not; shimmer pinks are very common and this one is similar to LA Girl Rock Star “Paparazzi” but not as pink and more coral-toned.  What surprised me the most was how well “Pros & Bronze” looked layered over “Love Is A Racket”.  It looks so coral red gold duo chromed.  As a duo, this collection is lovely.  I can’t wait to see if OPI plans on doing anymore series like Glam Slam!
