Last month I was invited to join a group of natural hair bloggers and media at a brunch hosted at Mr. C Hotel in Beverly Hills for the official launch of Beautiful Textures. I got a chance to meet so many amazing bloggers that I’ve followed for years and we were able to openly and honestly discuss the issues and concerns of textured hair in an intimate setting. The setting itself was awesome and the hotel was beautiful, as you really don’t get to have moments like this at crowded events when several conversations & new encounters are taking place, so it was really something special.
The line is being marketed towards “mixed textured” hair. I immediately got that awkward mix of emotions because when it comes to natural hair I’m constantly seeing brands market towards race (actually mixed race) instead of hair….hair and hair texture is never defined by race. The brand representatives (one having natural hair herself) gave us some insight and clarity on their meaning of the term “mixed textured” and said that it was in reference to the multitude of textures naturally curly girls experience in their hair alone, and that the line is designed for curly, wavy, kinky-coily, and frizzy hair (this is clearly written on the bottles as well). I totally understood what they were saying, but the message still needs to be clearly defined in the video on the website, because you won’t have the chance to explain to the girl in the store reading the bottle and seeing those terms. Naturals understand the different textures, coarseness, and curl patterns that a single person can have.

Wash-n-go ponytail using Beautiful Textures Tangle Taming Leave-in
We were all sent home with a couple products to try until all the products were available for a full review, because our samples just came off the production line. I’ve been using the Beautiful Textures Tangle Taming Leave-in Conditioner and Moisture Butter Whipped Curl Crème. Words cannot explain how freaking awesome these products are and I’ve only being incorporating 2 of the products in my normal hair care routine. They have been my go-to products since I got my paws on them. The scent is ridiculously decadent! When I’m not thinking about what I used that day I always find myself noticing the scent. It’s very creamy, tropical, and slightly musky. You can tell by the ingredients that they stood a chance; enriched with aloe vera, coconut, olive, soy, argan oil, rosemary, ginseng root, shea and mango butter. The packaging is full of information and has detailed instruction, tons of products tips, and tips on how to mix & match products. And it’s not just a bunch of useless info; we’re talking detailed info that girls with curls need. Instead of stickers that get gross and peel when wet, the entire bottle and jar is heat-wrapped with brightly colored labeling.
Having natural hair I’ve seen my share of new products come and go and I’ve never seen a massed produced line this great. In a couple months you’ll actually be able to go to your local beauty supply store, drugstore, or retailer like Target or Wal-mart and buy quality products for your hair for around $7-9. It’s clear a lot of thought and attention to detail was put into the new line and it wasn’t something just thrown out there or rushed to the masses. The only thing I’m concerned about is how the notion that you go from curly to straight as often as you want is being marketed. I’d love to say it’s that easy, but if you’re naturally curly, applying heat improperly (or properly and too often) you’re asking for disrupted curl pattern that can never be reversed. You don’t need curly hair to appreciate the new product line and I think they’ll work across the board for all hair styles but don’t expect the ability to go back in forth as often as you like.

This is a great review. I’ve always had a hart time finding products that actually work for my hair type — really massive curly, frizzy, kinky. Once these hit the shelves I will be trying a few out! Thanks a lot!!!!
This collection is going to be the new “It” products for natural hair. I’m calling it now lol!

Dang Krissy they need to pay you for this write-up! You just totally sold this to me. I can’t wait. I’ve been natural for 2 years and have never ever worn my hair out because i can’t find products that work on my hair type(4a/b). I’m definitely gonna try this when it comes out! thanks!!
Girl there are a ton of products for your hair! You’re missing out!
I just tried the product. (Curl control and Mositrue Butter). They are excellect. My hair is soft!
This line sounds great. Could this work for ladies who are relaxed who need a lot of moisture or transitioning?
Sure does! It was made for all hair types and the different products have different levels of moisture. The even include products for naturals that wear their hair straight.

THROWBACK POST: : A Look at the New Beautiful Textures Hair Care Line for Curly, Wavy, Kinky-Coily and Frizzy Hair http://t.co/51x8c2h6
Thanks for the tip! I have tried all types on products that claim to bring out the natural curl; but they all seemed to leave my hair dry and dull. This is the best product I have ever used for relaxed hair. I can easily switch from curly to straight & maintain healthy hair. Love it!
I love, love this product line. BC almost 5 months ago and I live in an arid climate with horrible hard water so my hair has been struggling. I have tried at least half a dozen products until I came across the whipped butter creme by Beautiful Textures! My hair responded instantly and the shampoo is wonderful. And the products do really work well with all my “mixed textures”.
I am absolutely in love with the Moisture Butter. I used it to put two strand twists in my hair, and they stayed moisturized for days. My hair is the worst when it comes to staying moisturized.
I LIVE for Moisture Butter. I’m in a weave and use it on my scalp lol
