Thanks for visiting www.addcitedtoallthingspretty.com! My name is Krissy. I’m a brown (woman of color/ WOC) beauty product enthusiast, freelance writer, and workaholic. I blog about the latest nail polish trends, makeup, skin care, hair care, and of course my lovely city. How long have you been a blogger?
I’ve been reviewing products since the age of 12 and have been active on a lot of makeup, beauty, and hair forums as long as I can remember. I started blogging (www.krissy90220.com) summer of 2009 as a way to keep up with the amount of products I had…almost like a database. It was also the best way to post reviews to avoid repeating the information I was giving to friends & family as well as on forums. It was truly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Where do you live?
I live in California! I lived in the Bay Area for a short time then move back to my hometown of Los Angeles
What type of camera do you use?
Most of the photos before November 2010 were done with my Canon PowerShot A3100 IS. I’ve even used the camera from my Blackberry 9700 for nail polish photos…it has a good lens. My Fuiji Finepix JX250 will be here any day now. I needed a camera that would record HD video videos.
Do you get paid for reviews?
No. I do not accept offers for paid reviews either. I don’t think anything is wrong with bloggers who do…it’s just not for me. When you’re being paid for the review companies expect a positive review. My integrity is not worth the money and I would lose visitors because of the lack of trust. That doesn’t make any sense to me. Who would want to visit your blog if you’re always pumping up crappy products?
Do you accept samples for review?
Yes. Companies sometimes supply the actual product for review consideration, others comes from everywhere; I purchase products myself (maybe a little too much…I’m such an addict), product swaps with friends, and samples. I make it a point to always be open, honest, and thorough when it comes to product reviews, rather it comes via PR or purchased by myself. If a review contains product(s) sent for review consideration you’ll see a disclosure statement at the bottom of the post. What’s your MAC foundation number?
That’s such a loaded question lol! I’m NC45 in MAC Studio Fix Fluid, NC50 in MAC Studio Fix. As much as I like MAC I prefer (and use other brands most of the time). I love Fashion Fair Fast Finish Foundation Stick (Tender), Mehron Celebre HD Pro Cream Makeup (Dark 1), Black radiance Pressed Powder (Creamy Beige), and Bobbi Brown Oil-Free Ever Finish Compact Foundation (Warm Almond 6.5) which I love but it is a little too dark, but I can work with it. Ladies don’t limit yourself to only MAC!
What’s your favorite brand of nail polish?
I love so many. China Glaze and OPI are always on top of trends, it’s inexpensive, and can be found easily. Diamond Cosmetics…greatness at only $2 a bottle! Zoya always has those eye-catching shades and they’re inexpensive also. I’m also a fan of Ginger+ Liz and BB Couture. Essie is great with those “wow” colors and OPI is great too.
