But don’t worry ladies…the colors are still the same. Zoya’s “Fire & Ice” collection is now called Zoya “Flame”. I’m not sure what prompted the name change see update below. This collection was officially released October 1st and has been appearing on blogs since September. None the less, the colors look nice from the promo pics. I’ll have swatches of these colors up within the next couple weeks. I’m surprised that Zoya haven’t already used names like Tiffany, Lisa, Sarah, Gloria, Crystal, and Valarie. Will Krissy ever come up?
UPDATE: There was a conflict with a previously trademarked name so they changed it.
Side note: There seems to be a little confusion as to what’s been causing information to be delayed or not received at all for Zoya collection releases. But I’ve been assured that everything has been resolved.
That is so strange to me. I've never heard of a polish company changing the name of a collection almost a month after it was released.
It does seem odd…but now I know why the Fire and Ice plate was listed on the invoice as "Flame". (I'm guessing they originally had plans to release two sets of six polishes, like Truth/Dare, Uptown/Downtown, Ooh-la-la/La-di-dah, and came up with the name accordingly. Then, for whatever reason, six of the polishes were not released. The current collection even looks like two "half"-collections: the jeweltoned reds Lisa, Sarah, and Valerie vs. the less intense shades Tiffany, Gloria, and Crystal.
I have no idea if that's why things worked out like they did. It's just a guess. I could be wrong.
