4 Reasons a Humidifier for Skin Should Be a Part of Your Beauty Regimen

If you’re wondering whether getting a humidifier for skin care is worth it, then you’re in the right place. Check out these four ways you could benefit from using one. Click here for more information!

Humidifiers are a brilliant addition to your household if you grow houseplants or suffer from sleep problems.

It’s even been found that higher levels of humidity can lower the infectious nature of flu virus particles after coughing.

But can they be used in skincare too? Do humidifiers help dry skin?

Read on to discover more and learn how you might benefit from using a humidifier for skin.

1. Humidifiers Help Hydrate Your Skin

Cold air stops skin holding onto moisture. The moisture in your skin evaporates so adding moisture into the environment stops that from happening.

So you don’t just need to reach for moisturizer when you have a dry skin day. Switch on the humidifier too!

Ideal humidity levels for the home range between 30 and 50 percent. Just ensure you change the humidifier’s water on a daily basis. You don’t want to squirt mold or bacteria into the air.

Running a humidifier overnight is an easy way to get more beautiful skin.

2. Counteract Air Conditioning’s Drying Action

It’s not just cold air in the home that can cause problems with your skin. Air conditioning also has a drying effect.

Like cold winter air, it takes moisture from your skin through osmosis.

Instead of spritzing your face with water-based moisture sprays, get a humidifier for your office. If you work from home, place the humidifier near your workstation.

It’ll replace the moisture stripped from the air by the air conditioning. That in turns stops the air stripping the moisture from your skin.

3. Ease the Congestion That Comes with Colds

This one might sound like a stretch in a guide about skincare. But bear with us.

A humidifier can’t stop you getting a cold (although it will make flu particles in the air less infectious). But humidifiers can ease the congestion associated with them.

The extra moisture in the nose can ease sinus pain and help mucus drain properly. That means less feverishly wiping your nose, turning the skin red and cracked.

It’s more of a side effect of using a humidifier than a direct solution. But if you’re interested in this side of humidifiers, discover more about their medicinal use.

Sometimes even with good humidifiers, you will find that congestion persists. This could be evidence that you are dealing with another issue than a simple cold; such as a ruptured sinus pocket, or some other sort of infection in your head. In such situations, you may want to consult the services of a Waterbury sinus doctor. Leaving such issues alone is more likely to cause you difficulty than it is to help you. Congestion from colds should go away on its own in a reasonable amount of time. If it’s persistent, you may be dealing with something beyond a simple cold.

4. Improve Your Sleep (And Then Your Skin)

When you’re tired, it shows in your skin. No amount of moisturizer or makeup can hide the signs.

And if you’re tired because a partner snores? You feel exhausted and annoyed. Not a good combination if you want glowing, radiant skin.

People snore because their throat or sinuses are dry. Humidifiers return moisture to the air which can cut down on snoring.

The extra moisture also makes the room feel more comfortable. So you can look forward to a good night’s sleep and wake up looking refreshed.

Now You Know Why You Should Use a Humidifier for Skin

By using your humidifier for skin, you’ll enjoy a radiant complexion and a more comfortable home!

They’re a cheaper intervention than surgery and they’ll benefit your whole household.
