As the weather starts to warm and the days get longer, we can finally gear up for a long, hot Australian summer.  There is no better way to enjoy the end of the year than with a playlist that takes you from the bright beach days through to the long summer nights. If you’re armed with a Bluetooth speaker and these seven classic tunes, you are guaranteed to have an unforgettable summer.

“Steal My Sunshine” by Canadian band Len is the epitome of summer.  Sampling Andrea True Connection’s “More, More, More”, this song rocks a nostalgic 70’s disco vibe perfect for the summer months. This timeless classic begs to be played poolside, cruising around or even at home with the family.  Luckily, through the use of a Bluetooth speaker, you can take it from place to place without having to press pause!

Bluetooth speakers give a user functionality and portability without sacrificing on the all-important quality of sound. Click here to check out the best portable Bluetooth speakers on the market at Harvey Norman.

Another feel-good tune that never gets old is “All Day and All of the Night” by The Kinks. Lasting all the way from 1964, the pulsating riff has carried this song across the decades – right through to today. The song is over quickly however so the moment that you want to hit replay, the JBL Link 20 has you covered with built-in Google Assistant that will act on your voice commands.

Jumping forward to 2016, Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling” is a song which is almost universally known despite only being recently released. Its catchy upbeat flare has you bopping along to it no matter what your age.

“California Gurls” by Katy Perry is an amalgam of various genres of pop, funk, electro and disco. Its vibrant bouncy beat leaves you helpless to the need to dance away to it. The Sony XB30 embraces dual passive radiators and an EXTRA BASS feature which executes a sound experience you’ll feel.

“Rebel Yell” by Billy Idol transmits an intense tune of hot summer nights…what could be better? With a strong guitar solo to get down to, “Rebel Yell” is the best song to pump you up in the morning or to start a party at night. Speakers like the Beats Pill+ harbor a battery life of up to 12 hours meaning you can party on from start to finish.

Sean Paul’s “Temperature” is a summer throwback sure to get you in the mood for a day at the beach under the hot sun.  The UE Megablast holds an IP67 rating meaning that sand and dust from days at the beach won’t be an issue for this device.

The stand out speaker for me has all the best features rolled into one. The UE Megaboom brings with it 360 degree sound and a 100ft wireless range. It has a huge battery life of 20 hours and best of all, is waterproof and can be chained up with a second UE Megaboom to blast out deep sounds. What better song to play on this than Beyoncé’s “Love on Top”? This speaker will give you the effect of surround sound while you dance away to Queen B’s electric sound.

Summer invites excitement and happiness among many. Having a good playlist to last you through the warmer months makes all the difference in ensuring you have a perfect end to the year. Investing in a Bluetooth speaker is the best way to playback your summer mix while being able to take it along with you for the journey.
