Charities in Colorado that need your help

We are blessed to enjoy the lives that we do. If you are in a dry, warm house with a full pantry, you re among the lucky ones.

Many others are in a situation where they are food insecure, they hop from couch to couch, or they are forced to sleep on the streets. The latest iPhone is only a dream to these folks.

Lloyd Claycomb is well aware of these injustices, and makes regular efforts to resolve them. He does it by giving to multiple charities, and by volunteering when he has the chance.

There are numerous charities throughout the state of Colorado that could use your help. In this article, we’ll list the ones that help the most people in need.

1) Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver

Not every kid goes home on the bus or gets picked up by their Mom.

There are children whose parents are busy working three jobs just to survive, so they have to fend for themselves until after 6 pm. In these vulnerable situations, they could fall in with a bad crowd, or get preyed upon by perverts.

Supporting the Boys & Girls Club helps to alleviate this issue, as you will be supporting drop-in centers which give young people a safe place to go until their parents or guardians can pick them up.

2) Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver

Recently, Salt Lake City made the news for making a unique program to alleviate homelessness: they built homes for them. For the rest of us, Habitat for Humanity aims to pick up the slack.

The cash you give acquires lots, tools/wood/concrete/etc, and it subsidizes what would otherwise be an unaffordable mortgage.

If homelessness is an issue you want to solve, this is your opportunity to do good in the world.

3) Mile High United Way

Capitalism is said to be one of the best economic systems we have devised, but even it has drawbacks.

Colorado suffers from the same inequalities that any other place does, as it has its own homeless and poverty problems that have serious knock-on effects.

The Mile High United Way is helping to confront this problem in the city of Denver, as their activities are oriented towards guiding those below the poverty line to emerge from this pit of despair.

From remedial classes for kids and adults alike, to guidance for those having trouble finding employment, there are plenty of things this charity does to address the issue of poverty.

4) Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver

When your child is sick or injured, there is nowhere you want to be, besides being at their bedside. This charity helps with that issue for families who have a kid admitted at a nearby children’s hospital.

This allows them to stay close during their time of need without having to worry about paying motel bills.

You can give from your bank account, but they also accept volunteers to mind the check-in desk, do simple cleaning, or to make food so they can be healthy without having to spend a fortune on meals.
