While you may enjoy spending time in the same old living room, there is a variety of reasons why you should consider giving it a new look. A living room remodel increases your comfort and enjoyment of the home and keeps it fresh. Not to mention that just a few simple changes can make your home more appealing to your guests. If you want to ensure everyone falls in love with your new living room, giving it a luxe look is a great idea. In case you decide to do so, here are five tips and tricks that can help.

Keep it simple

A cluttered living room can look messy, rather than luxurious and sophisticated. Therefore, the first step of your living room remodel should be getting rid of things that you have no real use of. For example, if you spend more time dusting your books than you do reading, maybe it’s time to move your bookshelf to another room. Also, toss away any baskets you keep junk mail, rubber bands, and keychains in, as all they do is make your living room look messy. Try to only keep things that really add style to the place or have sentimental value to you. A simplified living room allows for the remaining features to really shine and create a luxe feel.

Let in natural light

Artificial light doesn’t only cause stress but it also makes your living room look smaller and more cluttered. When trying to make your space look luxe, relying more on natural light is a must. If you feel like your living room isn’t bright enough, adding more windows is a great idea. By bringing more natural light to your living room, you’ll make the entire place look rich and more spacious. However, if adding more windows isn’t an option, you should make sure you opt for classy lighting options. Freestanding lamps and luxurious chandeliers are something you just can’t go wrong with.

Get a new rug

If there’s one thing that can change the look of your living room, it’s a rug. When chosen carefully, a living room rug can bring all of your colors together and add a pattern if you’ve opted for a neutral color palette. On top of this, getting a new rug is a guaranteed way to add style to your living room. For example, there are beautiful antique rugs you can get and completely change the entire space. To find the best rug for your living room, think about the size of the room and look for a rug that is the right scale for your space.

Go for throw pillows

Throw pillows are an important part of every living room. No matter what kind of furniture you have, there are throw pillows you can get that’ll add glamour to the whole place. If you already have a few of these lying around your furniture, it’s recommended that you replace them with fuller pillows or just buy new pillow covers. The best thing about it is that you can play with colors and textures as much as you want. Make sure you consider at least a few of these before you choose the throw pillows for your new living room. Just bear in mind that there can be too many throw pillows, so try not to go overboard.

Add an accent wall

A carefully-chosen wallpaper or bright color can really change the vibe in your living room. The best thing about it is that there are so many options you can go for when looking to add luxury to your space. Moreover, instead of decking out all four of your walls, you can just add an accent wall and your living room will look amazing. Plus, you can always find luxe art to hang on your accent wall and make sure the wall is the first thing people see when they enter your living room. If you want to go for something different, consider using tile to create an inlaid accent wall.

The bottom line

Just a few changes here and there can completely transform your living room. Follow the tips and tricks mentioned earlier in this post and adding luxury to your living room will be a real piece of cake.
