Ways in Which Medical Marijuana Can Be Used

Thanks to medical research and advances in medical science, it is now known that smoked cannabis and other forms of ingesting medical marijuana helps in a variety of ways. This includes:

  • Lowering neuropathic pain levels.
  • Increasing calorific intake in people who have low levels of muscle mass.
  • Lowering levels of muscle spasticity.

Thanks to these types of discoveries, it is becoming increasingly easy to find marijuana delivery in Los Angeles. Not just that, however, it has also give rise to further, large-scale, clinical trials to uncover just what other benefits medicinal marijuana has. No longer reserved for people in the terminal, painful stages of cancer or those who have multiple sclerosis (MS), it is actually offered to a variety of people for a variety of different reasons. Let’s take a look at some of those.

Cannabis and Cancer

It is a known fact that medical marijuana helps to fight the extreme pain and nausea that patients undergoing chemotherapy experience. In fact, integrative oncology experts and other healthcare providers alike are recommending medical marijuana because it helps to stimulate the appetite, while also helping people to sleep better. Not only does cannabis help in the management of symptoms, it also has some antitumor properties.

In fact, the Florida medical cannabis doctors at THC Physicians have provided a resource on marijuana and cancer that references studies that have shown cannabis to kill cancer cells without harming normal cells.

Cannabis and Arthritis

Some 31 million people in this country suffer from osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis, leaving them with painfully swollen joints. They have a significantly reduced quality of life, because they are afflicted by pain and have limited mobility as well. In the 18th century, Western medicine used cannabis to treat pain in the muscles, as it was already known that it had anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and immune-modulation properties. Since then, research has been conducted to determine just how good of a pain reliever it is. Hence, it is now recommended for connective tissue disorders (including rheumatoid arthritis), but also for degenerative joint diseases. Additionally, it improves the working of NSAIDs painkillers and of opioid painkillers. Also, if taken in the cannabidiol form, it reduces morning stiffness and joint inflammation.

Cannabis and MS

Some 350,000 people in this country have been diagnosed with MS, a debilitating, painful, progressive, chronic, incurable condition. It is a disease that most commonly affects those aged between 20 and 40 and is most common in women. The disease affects the central nervous system and usually comes with flare-ups of loss of muscle functions, muscle spasticity, spams, and pains. 4% of all MS patients have noticed a positive effect of using cannabis. This is an interesting figure, because only a very small amount of MS sufferers have tried it. Some researchers therefore believe that closer to 100% of MS sufferers could actually benefit from medical marijuana.

Medical marijuana helps with a wealth of painful conditions besides these. For instance, it has been proven to provide tremendous relief for people who suffer from insomnia or from migraines. It is also recommended as a form of treatment for eating disorders. Considering it is a natural product, awareness of its amazing properties really has to be increased. In addition there are now many trustworthy online headshops that offer quality vaporizers and bongs.
