Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Steak (ribeye or sirloin) about 1 inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper freshly ground
  • 2 cloves Garlic smashed
  • 2 sprigs Thyme
  • 2 tablespoon Butter

Instructions 

  1. 1. Preheat your cast iron pan over high heat.
  2. 2. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper.
  3. 3. Add olive oil to the pan and swirl to coat.
  4. 4. Place the steaks in the pan and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  5. 5. Add garlic, thyme, and butter to the pan. Baste the steaks with the melted butter for another 1-2 minutes.
  6. 6. Use a meat thermometer to check for desired doneness. Remove from pan and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
