Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice uncooked
  • 1 bunch fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 bunch fresh dill chopped
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • ¼ cup pine nuts optional
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 jar grape leaves rinsed and drained
  • 1 lemon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine rice, parsley, dill, onion, pine nuts (if using), olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. 2. Place a grape leaf shiny side down. Add a spoonful of the rice mixture in the center.
  3. 3. Fold the sides over the filling and roll up tightly.
  4. 4. Place the rolled leaves in a large pot, seam side down. Repeat with remaining leaves and filling.
  5. 5. Pour water and lemon juice over the stuffed leaves. Cover with a plate to keep them in place.
  6. 6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
  7. 7. Let cool before serving. Enjoy!
