Instructions 

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 20 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper.
  3. Once onions are caramelized, let them cool slightly and then mix into the sour cream mixture.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
