  • 4 Green tomatoes sliced
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 Sandwich buns split and toasted
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Lettuce shredded
  • 1 cup Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. 2. In a bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3. Dip each tomato slice in buttermilk, then dredge in the flour mixture.
  4. 4. Fry the tomato slices until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  5. 5. Spread mayonnaise on the toasted buns, add lettuce, and place the fried green tomatoes on top.
  6. 6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
