Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • as needed oil for frying
  • as needed powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Pour the batter into a funnel, covering the bottom of the spout with your finger. Release the batter into the hot oil in a circular motion.
  6. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
