Hush Puppies Recipe
A classic Southern side dish, these hush puppies are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Main Ingredients
- 1 cup Cornmeal
- ½ cup All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 1 Egg beaten
- ½ cup Buttermilk
- ¼ cup Onion finely chopped
- 2 cups Vegetable oil for frying
In a mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, mix the beaten egg, buttermilk, and chopped onion.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Remove hush puppies with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
