Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and bubbles. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potatoes and onions. Pour half of the sauce over the top. Repeat layers.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden brown.
