Ingredients 

Shrimp

  • 1 lb Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 4 French rolls split and toasted
  • 1 cup Shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup Sliced tomatoes
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Hot sauce optional

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a bowl, combine shrimp and buttermilk. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. 2. In another bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, and Cajun seasoning.
  3. 3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. 4. Dredge shrimp in the cornmeal mixture, then fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. 5. Mix mayonnaise and hot sauce in a small bowl.
  6. 6. Spread the sauce on the toasted rolls, then layer with lettuce, tomatoes, and fried shrimp.
