Main Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- ⅓ cup lukewarm water
- ½ cup lukewarm milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup pearl sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture, lukewarm milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
3. Add the softened butter to the dough and knead until fully incorporated. The dough will be sticky.
4. Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until it doubles in size.
5. Gently fold in the pearl sugar into the risen dough.
6. Preheat your waffle iron. Divide the dough into portions and cook each portion in the waffle iron until golden brown and caramelized.
